Looks like pro-active is working for her cuz when she was in top model you could play connect the dots on her face. She's looking better. I just wish she would do something withe her hair other than that birds nest.

yaya should have won. she's beautiful. eva is too, but i heard from some of my friends in the business that her own agent can't even stand her attitude and that yaya is an agency favorite because she's mad professional. i also heard that yaya naturally gets better jobs but they try to push eva a little more because she won.

She looks cute, but i agree with the hair business it is not cute combed to the side like that. If it was more centered it would be cute.

Even though I think Eva is beautiful I really wanted Ya Ya to win, she looks more natural. Naturally dark hair, eccentric look she has it all very pretty and natural. I wish her as much success as Eva. I feel like going to the Mac counter and purchasing this eye make-up.

Is that her mom or is that Alfred?

^Yeah, I was rooting for Ya Ya too. She just seems to have that "star" quality. Nice to see she's being successful. BTW, her skin/makeup looks flawless. Just beautiful!

Wow, you can really tell the white wash bloggers commenting on the hair. Black people hair don't always have to been relaxed, blonde, and weaved out. Braids are beautiful and represents ethnicity.

I wasn't a big fan of Ya-Ya's on ANTM--her attitude irked the shit out of me. So--it's nice to see her looking so gorgeous and to hear from Anon 10:49 that she's shut her mouth and become a true professional.

She's so beautiful. I actually like her look better than Eva.

She is beautiful. I love the hair not only because I'm natural but you know. I also don't think that just b/c a person disagrees with the way her hair is should be considered white-washed. I'm the only natural person in my click and I respect my sistahs who aren't. Weaves, Braids, Perms whateva is all good as long as you know how to rock it.

She's breathtaking. Like real offical startling beauty, but her attitude sucks and that keeps me from supporting her.

yayaaa, i love her

Yea her attitude sucked sometimes. Like she was always throwing in that she went to university (which is good compared to the others)but she over did it. I'ts just a poly sci degree.
Keenyah cannot be put in the same catogery with yaya, she didnt even know who nelson Mandela is (lol)

That makes 3 of us. I love her. She wasn't undercover about her attitude and she had a little tact. I pray that she goes far. I will definately see this movie. Great skin now and love that color on her. Go YaYa...represent for the chocolate girls!

LMAO @ white wash bloggers!!
So so true. Even if some people don't want to admit it. MANY (not all but many) women feel peer pressure from all the weave wearers but moreso MEN (not all but a lot) who demand long, loose, soft, ungreasy hair on their women and no bedtime headscarves.

Is that Matte Bronzer she's wearing?? Excuse my ignorance. :-S

Yaya is stunning! I hated her attitude on the show and was pulling for Eva, but I'm glad to see she's doing well. Speaking of ANTM....I can't stand that bitch Jade on this season!! She should have been kicked off before they even did the judging! I'm an angry black woman this morning.

I thought I was the only black girl doing the hair scarf, greasy thing. Good to know there are still some true black sistas out there. BTW I call weaves false advertisement.
Anonymous

If that's the case then so are relaxers coz that ain't yo natural shit either.
Anonymous
said...
It aint healthy to relax your hair they say women who relax have over an inch of zinc under their scalp who knows whats going to come about in the furure. I wish more black women in the industry, besides jill scott and india.irie would go natural

most natural hair is ugly erybody cant do natural cuz they shit real nappy. i got good hair so i dont need a perm but erybody hair ain't like mine

Anon 3:24--Uh-uh. I have naturally curly hair too-my husband describes it as "wash and go"--but it isn't "better" than anyone else's. I actually corrected a lady the other day when she said "you got some good hair". I totally threw her off when I said "so do you. We all have good hair. Bad hair is being bald." What is this "erybody cant do natural cuz they shit real nappy"?...Baby, erybody DID go natural and LOVED it until WHITE people told us our hair was nappy and made us think it was less beautiful than their hair--then we started burning our shit up with all kinds of lye and talking about too nappy this and too nappy that...Black folks, we need to get over this shit for real...
Anonymous
said...
Wow, her face is flawless!!
Anonymous
said...
Well said Nee!
Anonymous

nappy hair ain't good, u can't do shit wit it. it break combs it is dry as hell and it don't look good. nappy head girls don't listen to nee she'll have ya looking fucked up. get yo perm so yo hair can look good like mine. i don't get perms cuz my hair is natural curly but it look good when it blown out too. get yo perm and itll look like my blow out

Anon 7:18 right above me, Girl, you need an education. You sound like an ignorant fool. Everybody doesn't want to look like your stank ass. and second of all, you probably look like a fuckin mess. I have straight hair but i would totally rock natural hair anyday. You just make me sick to my stomach with how you talk!!
Anonymous
said...
i hate the term "good hair" I wish people would learn to love and respect themselves and what they have b/c that is what makes you beatuiful. I tend to think those who make idiotic statements like anon 7:18 are really just over compensating b/c they themselves have low self-esteem you should work on that before you think about telling anyone else what to do.

gudd hurr is hair that is combed, and not dirty, regardless of texture!

Folks lets remember Anon April 06, 2006 7:18 PM could be a white wash sixteen year old little girl with a lot of growing up to do.

ANON 7:18 YOU HAVE SO MUCH GROWING TO DO. NO SUCH THING AS GOOD HAIR. I AGREE GOOD HAIR IS HAIR COMBED AND NEAT! YOU HAVE THICK HAIR AND YOU HAVE THIN YOU HAVE STRAIGHT YOU HAVE CURLY GET IT TOGETHER! YA-YA HAIR LOOK'S GOOD TO ME. SHE IS A PRETTY GIRL!

her eyeshadow is cute...everyone can't wear it like that.

Let's be real: who the heck wants coarse hair? No one. I don't buy into the idea of "good hair." If you have hair on your head and it's healthy then it's "good hair." Whether or not one decides to wear a weave or not, is their business. Wearing you hair au naturel does not define you more "black" than another sister.
Anonymous
said...
Nobody said it defines you as more black. We're saying that coarse hair shouldn't be considered as "bad". To answer your question, lots of people love and embrace their coarse hair. Ever heard of a little country named Jamaica? Not saying that everybody does it because I'm Jamaican and I know that isn't true. But there are lots of people that don't have a problem with the natural texture of their hair. If you do, then fine, because that's what you like. But don't make negative comments about people that don't like their hair like that or automatically assume that we think we're more black.

This thread is about Yaya...not Eva-Beaver Damn.! I don't even think u can put either one of them in the same category....geessh
Anyway, Go YaYa. Its all about u up in here. Do it girl...with your Hair and alladat!Hair or no hair/good or bad...u r YaYalicious!

10:13 you are very ignorant with your remarks? i decided that i wanted my course hair back and i shaved off my perm 1 year ago. i now have six inches of natural course hair. You serously need to adit that you have a hair complex. Its not the matter of being blacker, but its about embracing an issue that most black women fear and what most black men hate. we need to be more real with our self and unlock our minds. we cant let the white man defy whts good and whats not through his eurocentric views of beauty which you embraced.

Why doesn't anyone like Keenyah? I think she's very cute. Get over it. This broad didn't deserve to win anything anyway. Her attitude stunk, a little too cocky for me. For any future comments that will disagree, it's okay to disagree.
:-)

Having nappy hair and not getting a perm doesn't make you anymore black or anymore real than anyone. Thats what black people need to get over.
Anonymous

She already said it didn't make her more black. Everyone already said it doesn't make you more black. Reading is so fundamental. You should try it before you start making comments that have already been addressed.

I am very proud of Yaya, she is from harlem, and she went to Brown University, I think she would have been the best role model for young girls across the world. She is educated, and talented and beautiful and shows the rest of the models what is is to be a WOMAN.
