Get to Know: Robin Thicke

I won't bore you with a long biography on him but I will say that the guy is hot. I know you've already heard his song with Pharrell Williams, "Wanna Love You Girl" (which I loved) but he has so much more to offer. Click the links below the pictures to learn more about him at his official site and on his MySpace page. But before you do that click the link to check out his Sessions at AOL performance with Lil Wayne for the song "Shooter". The song is crazy...

[Thanks Angel]

I'm glad he cut his hair because that hippy look he was working a few years back disturbed the sexy.

Let's not turn this into a race issue. Nobody is "up" his ass. Talent is talent and this man got it and has been on the scene and behind it for a long time. There is so MUCH crap on the radio right now. It's time for real music to come up again!

I'M IN LOVE!! But what happened the album was set to come out March 21st but now the website says "coming soon" Does anyone know when the album is coming out?

Anonymous

said...

I heard that the album got pushed back from its original Feb 14 release date to March 21 because he wrote 2 or 3 new songs for the album. One of those new songs is '2 the SKY' which is an INCREDIBLE track that he also performs on the AOL sessions. Now I hear the album is going to be released in June.

(he has a baby on the way??? I didn't hear that rumor! i think he's married to Paula Patton (a GORGEOUS woman) who is in a movie with Outkast called 'Idlewild' and also in a new movie with Denzel called 'Deja Vu' that just finished filming. much success to both of them!)

oh wow spike zee... it blows my mind to see how ignorant people still are in 2006... maybe you should clean out your ears since you say they won't allow you to 'enjoy any white r&b/neosoul wanna be singers'. lol... as far as I'M concerned, talent is talent. if you look at robin's impressive resume, he's worked with people from michael jackson to usher, to brian mcknight and christina aguilera (and many, many more). maybe you should expand your mind before you stay trapped in that box you're in forever...lol

I totally agree anon 10:43! A lot of the songs Spike grooves 2 were prob written by this "white r/b neosoul singer"

Thicke..Thicke..Thicke..
What has he done with himself? I whole-heartedly agree with Julia! He seemed to be more himself when he first came out, he was original. The "hippie" tip he was on that everyone shunned was nice, I thought. It was real, it was who he was. I understand wardrobe evolves after while, so I'll move on.
As for his music, it changed right along with his looks. Now, not only does he look like the gratuitously overrated Justin Timberlake, but he sounds just like him. -downgrade-
Why must he conform?
I want the OLD Thicke back... :(

Saw his show in Detroit opening for John Legend... He was AMAZING!!!! He was the whole show. He was kind, and gracious, and just an incredible voice like none I have heard. Please stop comparing him to Timberlake... Robin is the REAL DEAL. He has actual talent!!!! Live band and all energy.

So True!!I LOVE YOU ROBIN!!!lol He was just here in CO last night w/John Legend and I have to say, I love John But I bought the ticker for Robin. I was standing right in front of him and he connects with his fans, he wasnt just going through the motions like so many performers do. Me being the respectful person I am, TRIED admiring him from afar until he said "its ok baby you can touch me" AHHHH!!! Paula much repect girlfriend but I held on to that calf like Nettie in the color purple! Robin is a class act, I hate to see him being compared to ANYONE! And for the comment about wanting the old Robin back, not to sound argumentative but how do you know that wasnt some made up image? Acceptance speaks volumes and I think we need to let his music do the talking for him, not his image. He stated at the show that most of the songs on his new album were inspired by his hardships last year, I think that says alot about him. His music is from the heart and to me that overshadows image, race, and all other petty issues others seem to use as an excuse to knock him.

I absolutely adore his music and I wish more people appreciated real talent. Robin is a genuine artist who has mastered a wide spectrum of musical genres. I iintend to give his CD to a few of my friends and family for Christmas. Hopefully the album will do well i the US but I know it will do better abroad just like his first album. I've met him and I must admit he's sexy, gracious and down to earth. I can't wait to see him in concert again.

I just bought Robin's Evolution cd last week, and I can't stop listening to it nonstop. This is one of the best cds I have purchased in a long time. Robin is the real deal and it is a crying shame that more people, particularly R&B lovers have not heard of him. I also plan to give his cd to family members and friends for Xmas. We need to bring him out from under the radar. This kid has way too much talent to remain largely unknown. Justin Timberlake has nothing on Robin. I like Justin, but Robin is ahead of Justin in the soul department. If you like Marvin Gaye, Maxwell and D'Angelo, you most definitely will like Robin.

Robin Thicke is immensely talented. It's a shame that he is signed to the N.E.R.D label, which probably explains why I've never heard of him until recently.

Robin, if you check out sites like this, I love Pharrell, but you need publicity and that you are certainly not getting over there.

His song "I Wanna Love You" has officially become my 2007 summer anthem.

He is extremely talented. His c.d. is on continual play at my house. I appreciate the fact that the music sounds like its his craft- like he has put not only his soul but his time, energy, and love into this album. He definitely has me feening for a new Maxwell album.

said...

Love this dude's stuff. He is a little different than when he came out, but it looks more like a maturity thing. No one wants to look homeless forever right? lol. (BTW- I loved Brand New Jones as well).

Anyway the album is great, but I LOVE some of the unreleased songs that were originally on the pre-release. I hope songs like You Center Me & Superman will see the light of day. I dont know why no one bought his album, but he's good adult music. The beats arent the star. (Where IS Maxwell??)

I'm old school...in my book the boy's got talent. I ain mad at him for marrying a sistah either. Finally people singing again. He's in good company..I'll be looking to buy that CD this week. Do your thing Thicke!

I hope somebody can help me,
I was watching the lost without you video with my wife the other day, and she pointed out to me that she really liked the dress Robin Thicke's wife (Paula Patton) was wearing... all black dress...
I was wondering if anybody has any idea where, or how, or the name of the dress??

I noticed a lot of Robin's songs on his newest album are kind of hinting about trouble in relationships. I have tried to read other blogs to find out the scoop, but does anyone know if he has a rocky marriage ? Is he more commited than she is? I read a brief story that she is just useing him to further her carrer...is this true?????? If so , I'm feel so sad for him!!! he is so passionate!! his wife is the luckiest!!!!!!!!!
