too little, too late. she has been running around looking so haggard for so long that these pics do nothing for me...she should take notes from the true next top model, eva and play catch up for the rest of 2006 cuz she has disappointed me since she won.

^Well said. It's kinda anti-climatic to see these pictures after she's been walking around looking like she has for the past year.

i am a stylist and have bumped into naima on a few occasions while i was working on some brazilian models who are breath takingly gorgeous, even without makeup. she looks grimey-unprepared and has no personality whatso ever. she is just there. she was trying to get into the event versace was putting together.
i was like-no way. i know they are going to tell her buh bye. after a few minutes she was told by one of the top people that we have all the models we need. and she left looking tired and boring. she was wearing a brown shirt-plain-gap jeans i think and some old shoes. her hair was greasy and looked like she did it herself. i style hair so i was very critical of her. it was a short fro and it had, what looked like pomade-in it to make it look layed down, but it wasn't. she mentioned tyra's name a few times as though we would be impressed and drop everything to ask her questions about her. we all know tyra even before antm so we don't treat her any special than anyone else-she is not the designer-she is one of the model, dear. she has no power when she is walking-she takes direction from us...so naima stop using her name as though it is your key to open doors that are too big for you to step through. ha

another word about tyra and her reason(s) behind creating antm. i have been a stylist for over 15 years and heard all the gossip on tyra and naomi. tyra is and was no angel back then or now. tyra, on more than one occasion has tried to get more coverage and favors than others models. she would suck up to whoever the designer was and act fake and phoney in order to get more time on the runway or in order to wear the "main" outfit which is the designers "jewel" of the collection. she would get mad when naomi was chosen or one of the other models she wasn't close to.
tyra wanted to be down with naomi and her crew, but saw how fake she was. she was just in it to use people so she could be more popular. eveyone knows naomi is a legend and is the number 1 model in the world. she is also the highest paid. so when tyra wouldn't get a cover she blamed it on naomi. tyra expects everyone to like her. why? i really don't like her phoney ways personally. i have worked on events when she was there and, she thinks it's all about her. well babe, it's not. she wants to act like she is everyone's mom. she thinks she is the only one with the answer. she will cut you off to make her point. she is a horrible listener.
i have seen people, politely say excuse me to her in mid sentence and walk away like they have to go, while rolling their eyes. it's funny. then her mom comes along and tries to repeat what tyra has said as though to make clear she is the one who gave her those words and ideas. it't funny. they go to fashion event-not to look at the fashion-but to give people unwanted therapy. she is a joke and so is her mom. too funny.
since tyra met oprah it's a wrap...now she wants to be the next oprah...oh no. she is overexposed now and wants to be even more in the media like oprah. ugggh.

tyra blamed naomi for her failures. there is no way a designer or a photographer would change their minds because naomi didn't like someone. that's just untrue. if a designer or the ceo of a magazine wants tyra they will have her. they aren't going to change their minds because naomi said so. let's get clear. tyra you know as well as i do that it cost thousands of dollars even millions to launch a ad and a cover for that designer. if you were 1 of several girls the magazine was going to pick for the cover then you know it's up to the head of the magazine to decide who is going to grace the cover not another model's opinion of you. you are blaming others for your short comings. i personally do not know you, but i would hesitate to work with you because i know how you can be when the cameras are off. you are mean and you feel that only you have the answers. you are trying your best to change the modeling world and get people back. you retiring from modeling isn't really about how unfair you think it is. you are just not in demand anymore. your star has faded in the modeling world. you are not a legend. when i think of icons in the modeling world we think IMAN-NAOMI-KATE MOSS-GISELE-...not you. i see you as someone who is all bout being ambitious and getting people back because you didn't out do naomi you didn't get the respect that you wanted from the fashion world. you didn't become number one. that was your ambition...to be number one in the modeling world and you didn't do it. naomi went out there and just was herself. she was honest with herself and just became iconic without trying to be that. she just is. you took it as though this is competition and i want to beat naomi i want to be number one. you twisted what the media said about you two and used it to play the victim. you waited 14 years to get a tv show and then used it to manipulate your "i'm the victim" cause. if you were a real woman you would have just moved on and cleared the air in private with her instead of making her look as if she ruined your career.
i know photographers who just "do not see you"...just like your show antm...you will be turned down because you aren't what they are looking for. don't take it personal. learn from it...as you have said so many times before. so in the end you have retired from modeling--yeah! now you are going to super saturate yourself in "getting everyone back" in the media who did you wrong....boo. tyra get some therapy quick-other than your mother.

Naima is not nice in person. I met her yesterday on 42nd street and she was wearing a tackey blue jean outfit and her hair was in a large afro. It looked horrible. She was with, what appeared to be, a body guard. She was prancing down the street like it was a runway. Everyone was laughing at her because she looked tacky and she was trying too hard to make an immpression.
I am so glad I did not get caught up in the hype. I find it funny that she hasn't been on any covers of Vogue/Elle/W none! All I have seen of her is the off brand magazines where she is with somone else inside the magazine not on front. The money is when you do the cover and then a spread inside. I never have seen that from her. The word in the business is she is another "antm charity" case. Her contract is up with cover girl, which has become cheapened by antm and qeen latifa reallty sent them in the gutter.
Naima no one sees you in NYC! We know a fake when we see one. Get a stylist for that hair and those tacky clothes!
