Well, it's good news to me. Mariah Carey has beat out 50 Cent, taking over the spot as the "hottest selling album in 2005"!!!
Carey's Grammy-nominated "The Emancipation of Mimi" climbed to the No. 1 spot for the year on U.S. sales of 290,000 copies during the week ending December 25, raising her 37-week total to 4.87 million units, retail tracker Nielsen SoundScan reported on Wednesday.
50 Cent slipped to No. 2 for 2005 as his sophomore set "The Massacre" posted sales of 30,000 copies last week, taking his 43-week tally to 4.83 million units, Nielsen SoundScan said.

she only sold so many because they are like 4 versions of the album and that is one of the reasons that ppl are hating on her also she acts too much like she is better that everyone else whaen she isn't

I'm glad somebody surpassed 50. He needs to get shot 9 more times with this bullshit he's trying to pass on as music. I've always liked Mariah but this album sounds like her last four. The woman can really blow yet she's almost always singing in that throaty way that can wear on your nerves. I think Mariah is a psycho, but i still like her.

I think both Mariah and 50 are garbage and dont nobody care about them anymore.First of all if it wasnt for Mr. J.D. she would still be runnin around in little shorts(the tunic dress is no better)but newayz she would still be on washed up artist island with Da Brat.And speaking of 50 he said that beef records dont sale well he was lying because thats the only reason get rich or die trying did so well. An everybody was thinkin we were gone get the samething on the massacre(however you spell it)and we got a sing a long. Personally both artist are whack and the only people who like their music are the younger less mature audience
