Scientologists Are Crazy...

But tell me something I don't know. All of you have heard by now that Katie Holmes is pregnant by Tom Cruise. You all know that Tom Cruise made Katie Holmes become a scientologist too. Well, something you might not know is scientologists aren't supposed to use painkillers when in labor. They can't even scream, they think it's traumatic for the baby.
Practitioners of Scientology are against drugs but insist on "silent birth" because they believe it's traumatic for babies to hear their mothers groan or cry.

"Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save the sanity of the mother and the child and safeguard the home to which they will go," church founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote in his best-selling "Dianetics."
I bet it would be even more traumatic for the mother to pass out during labor because of all of the pain. But that's not it, Scientologists don't even want the baby examined until 7 days after birth.
Scientologists also favor seven days of silence for newborns so their first week on Earth is trauma-free. But this has run afoul of state-mandated blood tests, which require at least a pinprick.
I don't talk about other people's religions, but is Scientology even a real religion? I mean the church didn't even really start until 1954. Sounds like a bunch of weirdos to me. Katie's parents should seek some outside help to save their daughter.
