You Want Fries With That?

Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes has produced songs for all of the top artists in the music business (Jay-Z, Gwen Stefani), he's recently been voted the best dressed man in the world by Esquire magazine, and now he wants to serve you (if you live in Virginia). Well, not really serve you, but he does want you to buy his burgers. He will be opening a chain of Fat Burgers in Virginia. He's partnered up with another Virginia native (Pharrell is from Virginia Beach), Chris Zarpas, a former Walt Disney vice president.

Bringing a little bit of Hollywood to Virginia with the opening of Fatburger, a fast-food restaurant chain with strong ties to the entertainment industry.

Zarpas and his partner, music producer and Virginia Beach native Pharrell Williams, own the Virginia franchise rights and plan to open 10 restaurants in the Hampton Roads area. The first will open next week in the WalMart Way Crossing Shopping Center off Battlefield Boulevard in Chesapeake.

“It is a legendary place among musicians,” Zarpas said of the restaurant, which first opened in Los Angeles in 1952. “That legacy continues today. ... I’ve eaten at the finest restaurants in the world, but I like simple food prepared well.”
