I use Lisa's Hair Elixir and the Hair Milk. Both products smell great and moisturize my hair without leaving my hair greasy. Neither do they irritate my scalp. I just finished eight months of chemotherapy and my hair is about an inch long. I am wearing it natural, healthy, and proud. Carols Daughter products enhance the natural curl pattern in my hair and makes it easier to manage.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1171652365186197342007-02-16T13:59:00.000-05:002007-02-16T13:59:00.000-05:00Where did you find it? I am not mixed, I am west African! I tried the small container (4 oz.) of "Mimosa Honey", and um, I've had a mimosa and it smelled nothing like a mimosa or honey for that matter. Oh, and there is no honey in it. I won't lie she does love the beeswax and the corn oil, if you use more than a quarter size (max.) of this stuff you will be a grease ball! I have relaxed hair that's medium in thickness and length. The smell I didn't care for so much, it kind of made me nauseous, and that's another reason to use sparingly, it smells really "citrusy" but very chemical at the same time. I used it on damp hair right before I blow dry, and it makes my hair sooo soft and gives me the best blow out ever! On dry hair it wasn't that impressive it kind of just caked and sat there, it didn't absorb very well. And when it finally did it just left my hair greasy! I also used the "Lisa's Hair elixir". It's basically peppermint oil plus lol. If you like peppermint you'll love this. I used it to deep condition my hair. It feels so good!If anyone has ever used "seabreeze" on their hair then the effect of this product is really similar to that. It literally opens every pore on your head and gives you a cooling and tingling sensation, and even if you rinse and blow dry you can still smell the peppermint in your hair but it's not nearly as strong as when applied on dry hair ( it makes my eyes water!), it nice and light, and your hair feels softer not as soft as when you use the mimosa honey however. On dry hair once again not so impressed, the smell is too strong. I'm a student, and when I would apply it to dry hair ppl four rows behind me could smell the peppermint in the lecture hall. In a lecture hall of 500 ppl, one time the lecturer stopped what she was saying and asked if anyone smelled peppermint, I was damn near in the back of the room. And it doesn't absorb as well or make my hair feel conditioned, just greasy. Last night I just bought the big container (8 oz.) of "healthy hair butter". I put it on dry hair and so far... me likey. It absorbs really well and it's not nearly as greasy as "mimosa honey". My hair feels soft and very conditioned from root to tip. I don't think I'll use it every day, probably every other day but so far I like it. The smell is very "patchouli-cedar like" but it's very light and you don't really smell it unless you're all up in the jar. It says you have to refrigerate it and I do. I don't know exactly why b/c when I bought it from Sephora ( for $13.13, tax included) it was sitting on the shelf, all the way in the back I might add. My guess is because it is a really soft solid, it might melt and separate or something. I don't know, I just keep it in the fridge like they tell you to. Haven't used it on my hair wet yet, but I don't think I will need to. The others were just to non-absorbent and greasy but this one is good so far. I guess it's true you just have to find the right one. I would highly recommend this for relaxed hair! Natural hair might want to try the "mimosa honey" for extra conditioning. I like Carol's daughter products possibly for the simple fact that I like what Lisa Price is all about (her story that is), hell if Oprah, herself came out with hair care products that she actually used on her hair I'd probably try it! I would rather give my money to an up and coming Africa - American woman, who has hair like mine and understands my hair than some caucasian man who makes products for me as side project, after he makes products on how to "bring out your brillaint blonde" but really knows nothing personally about my hair type or texture other than some paragraph he read in some flaky mag. Yeah her stuff is on the pricey side compared to other in the beauty store but if you find the right product, it's worth it. I mean, we spend so much money on other things and other name brand products for our hair. We should help a sister out! lol At least try it, I'm not saying use something that does nothing for you, just try it...

P.S.
Sorry for my ridiculously long post. We must realize that one persons opinion does not speak for the whole bunch, again, whether good opinion or bad opinion. I make my own soaps, candles, shea butter this mango that, I buy all of my things from a wholesale distributor. I believe Carol's prices are expensive especially when you've never tried them. If a customer is angry about colors bleeding, or if she received the purchase of her life, I think everyone should voice their opinions. Especially if the owner of the product is reading the website...As far as Jada and Mary...I think she should have gotten someone with natural hair, not weave and yes they wear weave to illustrate the products. Not use investors, of course, they will tell you what you want to hear, the business is to make money. When you use all of those butters together, yes it will be oily. Jojoba is really a wax, but it pours like oil...They have beneficial properties though. So, to the readers, writers or purchasers that are told you are receiving all natural products, it is very upsetting to learn that you aren't after trusting and investing money into something. I read the ingredients in Carol's Daughters, and sometimes the scents that are blended may smell nice at first, but, by the time they sit on the shelf, then ship..you're talking a whole new ballgame..The scent has settled and smells very faint, or nothing like you thought. It is really bad there are no recipes on her webite. I see where other people who are doing the same thing as Carol's Daughters, they not only sell, but give free recipes, which keeps you coming back to the website. But, hey I guess they don't have the celebrity thing going. But, that shouldn't make a hill of beans just because will and jada, mary, jay-z are investors. I've never known Jada to be biracial, both her parents on drugs really bad, mom was a heroin addict and her dad is still on crack in Baltimore.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1160728819829050392006-10-13T04:40:00.000-04:002006-10-13T04:40:00.000-04:00I have been using Carol's Daughter for over a mont...I have been using Carol's Daughter for over a month now, and I like the products. Why must so many people talk trash about someone else's success? If you don't like the product, just don't buy it anymore. But don't talk shit. Besides, some products are not made for everyone.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1155894230559037472006-08-18T05:43:00.000-04:002006-08-18T05:43:00.000-04:00Hi, I m wriiting from france so sorry for mistakes...Hi, I m wriiting from france so sorry for mistakes.
I was reading your comment about carols daughter products. Cause in sephora France they open like a ethnic area where you can find some Softsheen, Iman, Kannelia every brand for black peope and that shit that only for business... It's the stylists, not the celebrities, that create the looks for advertising photo shoots such as what we see for Carol's Daughter. Regardless, why do so many of us have to be "crabs in a barrel"? Jada and Mary look great. If the posters are curious about the products, then they should purchase them. If they are not satisfied with the results, then don't buy them again. It seems simple to me.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1152851361117269622006-07-14T00:29:00.000-04:002006-07-14T00:29:00.000-04:00I don't know if Jada is biracial and I really don'...I don't know if Jada is biracial and I really don't think it matters. EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion and not all of them are going to be FAVORABLE to the company. I admit, I purchased the products because on a leaflet, Jada said the particular product I purchased "made her hair grow". After viewing the site, I purchased what I felt would work best for my hair and it DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. It made my hair very GREASEY and weighed down. My hair began to break and split and if anything, I felt my growth was stunted, esp after seeing a significant growth spurt when taking amino acids and vitamins from GNC. So sorry, it didn't work for me and I went back to GNC and I'm seeing more growth again. Celebrity endorsement does not necessarily yield automatic success.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1151697072436951832006-06-30T15:51:00.000-04:002006-06-30T15:51:00.000-04:00no im confused is jada full black or not because i...no im confused is jada full black or not because i wana know if those products actually made her hair grow longer??Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1147448721687311692006-05-12T11:45:00.000-04:002006-05-12T11:45:00.000-04:00Pinkie -i agree!! ever since carol's daughter got...Pinkie -

i agree!! ever since carol's daughter got so high profile, she has discontinued my very favorite body spray - BABY SOFT.

i also loved green tea and that's gone, too.

there used to be so many scents to pick from, now she has narrowed it down to SIX!!!!

another thing, are her new "eau de toilette" sprays the same formula as her old body sprays? because i can't wear perfume with too high of an alcohol content in them, which is why is started using her products to begin with.

i have been a loyal customer for over 6 years and now i am just so upset, i'll have to find another brand of beauty products...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1145598213497957562006-04-21T01:43:00.000-04:002006-04-21T01:43:00.000-04:00FIRST OF ALL HOW DO SELL A HAIR PRODUCT AND SAY HO...FIRST OF ALL HOW DO SELL A HAIR PRODUCT AND SAY HOW IT HELPED GREW YOUR HAIR WHEN YOUR USING NOT ONE BUT TWO WOMEN WITH A HEAD FULL OF WEAVE I LOVE JADA AND MARY BUT I WANNA KNOW WHO'S IDEA WAS THISAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14887785.post-1145148812551885382006-04-15T20:53:00.000-04:002006-04-15T20:53:00.000-04:00Nice...way to assume that the poster was a woman a...Nice...way to assume that the poster was a woman and then proceed to denigrate all women with misogynistic name-calling

As for as CD products, I agree with the posters who think that her products are overhyped, overly-greasy and over-priced...the main ingredient in a lot of her products is corn oil (like you can buy for cooking!) and I don't know why this is "better" or "more natural" than mineral oil.
