"Something New"...

We've already established that white guys having the "best year ever". Well, on February 3rd a new movie starring Sanaa Lathan, called "Something New", will be in theaters. In the movie Sanaa's character is looking for love but she soon realizes that she is falling for her white landscaper. The movie also stars Alfre Woodard, Mike Epps, Taraji Henson, and Simon Baker (as her love interest). Be sure to support Sanaa and check out the movie when it's released.

Its a real good movie. I went to the sneak preview and enjoyed it. Surprising white women outweighed the sistas in attendance.

All in all, it gets a B-.

Didn't Ashton Kutcher & Zoe Saldana (sp.?) make this movie LAST year?

Ashton Kutcher's was a remake of Guess Who is Coming To Dinner....

So what if Guess Who was made last year? Sanaa is gorgeous and Simon is a STUD. Its nice to see a movie where the black woman falls in love with a white man. The point is THESE MOVIES...SHOULDN'T be a big deal...BUT because Society is so PREJUDICED and BIGOTED....so few of these movies had been made.... This movie is different because its about people in their 30s not some 20something..This movie is about LOVE EMERGING...and come on..how many interracial movies have been made this decade? NOT A LOT. I get the feeling when people say "oh this movie has been done before..or didn't they make Guess Who last year." Are the people that have a problem with interracial romances...The comments sound negative..as if people in interracial romances don't have right for THEIR LOVE to be DEPICTED ON FILM!

^I'm the product of an interacial relationship so obviously I don't have a problem at all with them. I don't think it's negative to ask a bonafide question about whether a similar movie came out last year...I haven't see anything in the marketing of this film that depicted "love" at all--it's all about everyone's comical reaction to their relationship just like "Guess Who"--so I think you should write the movie studio and tell them that they need to market it as a love story if they don't want to have comparisons made between this and and last year's movie...

^^^ I TOTALLY agree! Especially with a mother that ONLY dates outside of her race that is NOT a shock this is NOT a shock but this day in age the SOLE movie is NOT about LOVE it is about BLACK/WHITE LOVE that is the ISSUE of the movie that is what they want people to get a shock out of..this day in age it is NO MORE shock value....Disney has been broke the color barriers with portraying blacks in white roles but they dont emphasis that...such as their reindition of Annie..Daddy WoreBucks was dating a BLACK WOMEN (imagine that) and Cinderella was BLACK. So SOMETHING NEW IS REALLY SOMETHING OLD..just new for this black chick to date outside of her race...TRUST NOBODY IS TRIPPIN!
